Tips for Using Timeshare Auctions

When I expressed the fact that I wanted to buy a timeshare to some friends, all I got was a lot of negative opinions. Most of them were of the opinion that all timeshares are scams and one only gets grief if you invest in it. Many of them had horror stories of attending a timeshare company’s presentation and being hounded by the high pressure applied on them by the sales people there, who refused to take no for an answer. They likened the experience as similar to a secondhand car dealer.

It can’t be all bad I thought to myself and determined that I would find from the best timeshares to own myself. The search led me to many different sites where different companies offered some incredible deals. Deals which to me sounded too good to be true. Further research led me to the names of some highly reputed companies in the timeshare business. RCI, HGVC, Monarch Vacations and Royale were some of them and they seemed very impressive.

I also visited many timeshare auctions and found that I could get timeshares from all the above at a fraction of the price quoted directly by them. The important thing I found was that when dealing with timeshare auctions one has to be very careful to check up on the seller and make sure both they are the timeshare offered are legit. It is important that they should have positive feedback – which can thankfully be determined on the site itself since Ebay makes buyer feedback public. I zeroed in on a couple of timeshares in the auctions and wrote to the owner directly. It made sense I found, to get his telephone number and talk with him personally and then I also called the resort to confirm details about the purchase itself.

I finally got myself a great deal and got myself a timeshare resort in Hawaii. The seaside has always been my thing since I find it very comforting to just hang around and chill in a lovely beach with a cold drink in hand.

Virtual Travel Makes Seeing Far Away Places Possible

March 27, 2011 · Posted in Trans Siberian Railway · Comment

It’s amazing how quickly new technologies become an accepted, normal part of our everyday lives. Thirty years ago, home computers were not even close to becoming as commonplace as televisions, but they are today.

Now the majority of Americans say they have regular access to computers. Most of us have spent time in chat rooms, playing avatar games, or visiting virtual worlds. We also spend time scoping out places that we’d like to visit in real life. Now, thanks to ever advancing technology, virtual travel is becoming almost as good as the real thing.

Riding on the Russian Railroad

Here’s one trip we can all take, even if we suffer from a lack of funds or a fear of flying; it’s a trip along the longest stretch of railroad anywhere in the world – the Trans Siberian Railway. This amazing desktop journey is brought to you by Google Video Maps, who collaborated with Russian Railways to bring you an astounding experience.

Bring up the map and click on any section of it. The next thing you know, you’ll feel like you’re looking out the window of the train as it courses across the Russian land. The video was actually taken through just such a window.

You can skip around and visit key spots like the Zeya River or the Barguzin Mountains or you can travel the entire 5,752-mile length of the train’s journey. Of course, that adventure takes about 150 hours, so you may want to break up the trip into smaller segments.

Future Travels

There are many reasons people cannot always travel to a desirable destination, ranging from economic realities to time constraints. If, however, Google and others continue developing desktop journeys such as their newly introduced Trans Siberian Railway trip, the sights and sounds of exciting locales around the world will be available at our fingertips. Just imagine the reaction when you casually chat about your excursion on the Trans Siberian Railway. Here’s hoping there are many such virtual travels available to us in the future.

Hiking is Best in Utah

March 24, 2011 · Posted in Travel · Comment

Even when I was a child I have always felt that there is something unique that’s going on in Utah. I first became interested with the state when I read the journey of the Mormons across the country to find a place where they could settle and practice their own religion in peace. They settled in Utah and it is said that the manmade city of the Mormons matches in beauty and grandeur the spectacle of the Utah landscape. I wanted to visit the place since then, but my parents would hear none of it. I only got the chance to fulfill my childhood dream when I took a month long vacation that I spent there with my friends. I am a hiking enthusiast and I took the opportunity to check out the whole state when it comes to the hiking and camping spots. Utah was even more beautiful than what I had pictured in mind. It’s so filled with wonderful places especially those that are ideal for hiking. Now would take this opportunity to list down some of the best hikes in Utahthat I have discovered.

1. Arches National Park- This is my favorite. Aside from providing a great hiking trail it is also filled with wonderful natural monuments. It is truly awe inspiring to look at those natural sculptures that abounds in the whole park.

2. The Salt Lake Area- This area provides easy trails that makes it ideal for families who want to spend quality time hiking. The country in this area is very beautiful as well and just perfect for picnics.

3. San Rafael Swell. This place has the best hiking spot in the country, yet you do not find a lot of people packing the place. If you are an outdoors buff this is place to visit. If you have been asking what is the best hike in Utah then this is the answer.
